Maine Pet Events
Did you know that 64% of homes in Maine have at least one pet?
Yes, it’s true! So it’s no wonder there are lots of pet events.
Here are some pet events Bell’s Furry Friends Photography is thrilled to be involved with:
1. Second Annual Greater Bangor Bark for Life
This year, Bark is on June 15, starting around 5:30 p.m. at the Hollywood Casino Racetrack in the heart of downtown Bangor. I worked with this event last year. It was amazingly touching and heartwarming.
BFF Photography is thrilled to be the official photographer for the event. If you have gone to this event, check out the Facebook Gallery. All participants get one Facebook-ready image for free. Any prints or products cost extra, but 10% goes to Bark for Life.
2. Maine Greyhound Placement Service Open House
When we adopted our greyhound, Laura, from MGPS, we became an active part of the organization. In 20 years, MGPS placed more than 4,000 greyhounds in “retirement” homes full of love and laughter.
This year, I’ll be at the Open House offering photos in the field instead of formal portrait sessions. The Open House is June 15 and 16 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. each day, rain or shine. Admission is $5 per vehicle.
3. Maine Boats, Homes, & Harbors Boatyard Dogs Trials
As part of the annual weekend-long expo, The Boatyard Dogs Trials, held Sunday, August 11 at 10 a.m., pits up to six canines and their people against each other for fun and frivolity. BFF Photography is the official photographer for the event. We couldn’t be happier. It’s going to be a dog-gone fun time!
4. Ready for My Close-up
Probably the most exciting event BFF Photography is involved with this summer is its inaugural pet event, “Ready for My Close-Up,” held on Friday, July 12, from 6-9 p.m. at the Sea Dog Brewing Company in Bangor. This event serves as a “grand opening” while also enabling visitors to learn about helping create healthy, happy pets. Side benefit? They’ll also look and feel great for photographs!
Admission for this event will be a cash donation or a pet supply item. I will split these donations between the Bangor Humane Society, and the Furry Friends Food Bank housed out of Eastern Area Agency on Aging in Bangor. Not only does this benefit two amazing non-profits, but it serves as BFF’s official launch. It’s going to be so much fun!
